The Wind and I
A Short Story in a Poetic form

Trying to see the face of the man I love in the moon-touched sky I was sitting by the window one night
The moon was busy dancing with the stars Disturbing my childhood friend did not feel right
The night was silent, just like my heart Suddenly, I felt footsteps approaching I knew who was coming
The role that the universe Plays in our lives is incredible It sends its messengers At a time when Lonely hearts need love
I turned around and felt the warm embrace
I could not hold my emotions anymore Tears welled up in my eyes But my friend’s presence drew a smile on my face
I said out loud-
Me: Hello my sweetheart Wind I am glad you are here Wherever I need you You are right there
When I feel low You become my cheerleader I need your help Could you do me a favor?
Wind: I can never say no to you Your smile makes me dance I hug you every time I get a chance
Me: I can’t reach the man I love Could you deliver my message to him that
“As he is not here to tell me I am pretty I wear his love and memories as jewels And fly solo over the place That my imagination rules”
Wind: Although I never take time off I wait for such moments When I get chosen for this beautiful job
Place your hand on your heart It won’t be long before I meet its other half
I felt the wind leave Making orchestral moves
I love when it does that It is the Wind’s way of telling me To lose all the blues And get on my dancing shoes
I was waiting for the wind When it brushed against my face I knew it brought a kiss from the man I love I could feel the warmth of his lips and hands
