The Weight Is Finally Over: Fitness Expert Offers Fresh Approach to Eating, Exercise, and the Good Life

THE CHALLENGE

Having been raised in Denver, one of America’s fittest cities, Bridgette Moody became self-conscious about her weight after it ballooned to over 170 pounds a number of years ago. An ambitious professional and single mom of two kids, Moody’s life journey at the time was mired in struggles around weight loss, health issues, and self-esteem.

THE EPIPHANY

Reflecting on her own health and wellness challenges, Moody recognized that the lessons she employed in overcoming her issues could be valuable to others. This was the spark behind her recently released book entitled The Weight Is Finally Over: A Health and Fitness Guide For The Whole Family.

Her 154-page guide delivers advice not only on an individual level but for an entire family. Says Moody: “When making a lifestyle change, it’s important to have as much support as you can from friends and family. I wrote this health and fitness guide to help as many people as I can. Because I know just about everything there is to know about losing weight, gaining muscle, or just living a healthy lifestyle, this book has given me a forum to share it.”

THE APPROACH

In her book, she takes aim at the cause and effect of obesity, foods to stay away from, types of exercises, and how to eat healthily.

What makes it unique is that it covers just about every angle: Teen obesity, men, women, pregnant women, and gracefully aging over 50 & 60.

Says Moody: “My aim is to help as many people as I can live a healthier lifestyle, get off meds, feel good, and look good.”

THE OUTCOME

Using the very tools discussed in the book, co-workers, family, and friends watched in amazement as her weight practically melt away. “They were so impressed that they began seeking advice from me on weight loss. In responding to their requests and helping them achieve great success, I realized that I had found my passion.”

Looking back on that time in her life, she notes: “This milestone changed my life. I stopped taking meds and my self-esteem went through the roof in a positive way. I felt good and I looked good TO ME.”

Moody offered this final thought to reflect on: “I had people say to me that my perception of overweight wasn’t overweight in their eyes. Well, when you go from a size 13–14, 170 lbs to a size 2 and 115 lbs in 90 days, that in itself is pretty damn amazing!”
