The very same sun
A lockdown poem

So what did you do in the sun yesterday? Did you sit on the grass, with a glass of rosé? Or get down on your hands and your knees in the dirt with the heat on your neck and your hands in the earth?
Did you go for a walk and see big empty roads? Past a rainbow in chalk and a church that was closed? I did all the above and the thing that I love is I know I’m right there in the eye of your mind
just like you are right here; you are always in mine and you always remind me to keep moving forwards and onwards and upwards and try to be kind. We’ll both sow some seeds and keep doing good deeds and enjoy the “occasional” large glass of wine.
With the very same sun shining down on our heads from the very same sky casting shadows, you and I in a similar way. Tell me: what did you do in the sun yesterday?
