In 1989, beautiful, 17-year-old Junko Furuta was riding her bicycle home from work. She was hurrying a bit because she didn’t want to miss the latest episode of her favorite Japanese television drama.

On her way, she was mildly accosted by a young man who kicked her off of her bike and moved in to do even more harm. Thankfully, she was saved by one of her schoolmates — a boy who had once asked to date her, but whom she rebuffed.

After scaring off her attacker, the boy asked Junko if he could escort her the rest of the way home. Shaken and scared, she quietly agreed, and the two began the walk.

As they passed through a compact industrial area, however, it became clearer and clearer to Junko that her savior was no savior at all, as he dragged her into an unoccupied warehouse and forcibly raped her.

But Junko’s ordeal wasn’t even close to done.

Once done, the boy, only slightly older than Junko himself, called in four of his closest friends who also took turns on Junko’s slim and compliant body.

And yet, that still wasn’t the end of the story. Instead, they decided to bring Junko to the first attacker’s home and escort her up to the attic….

It took 44 days for Junko’s frail, battered, and abused body to finally give out.
