SPIRITUAL POETRY
The Universe is the Choreographer
The relationship, the dance

I wish to thank the universe for providing me with a good dance partner to a Gershwin or an Ellington tune — a waltz or a swing
Although we stumble, step on each other’s toes, we somehow move about the dance floor without harming anyone
Our technique is simple, not unlike Rogers and Astaire, we do an Irving Berlin cheek-to-cheek, slow and mindful in the here and now
Our confidence is high and coordination maintained We are conscious of our spirit Dancing is not about what you know, it’s sharing what you’ve learned
Sometimes I take the lead, other times I defer to my partner But together, we are equal — vulnerable yet strong, energetic yet relaxed
I keep the rhythm My partner tangos on the floor The universe is the choreographer and under the moon and stars, the dancehall.
