Summary

The Unfair Advantage publication provides guidelines for submitting articles that offer unique, uncommon, and practical insights to readers.

Abstract

The Unfair Advantage is a publication seeking original articles that provide readers with unique insights and knowledge. Submissions must adhere to three basic rules: content must be unique and not widely known, it should be engaging and avoid overly academic language, and articles should be concise, ranging from 100 to 1,500 words. The guidelines emphasize the importance of visual content, short paragraphs, and intriguing titles to increase the likelihood of publication. Writers interested in contributing must follow the publication and can submit their articles for review, with a response time of up to 72 hours. The publication encourages a broad range of topics, provided the content is accessible and offers an "unfair advantage" to the reader in terms of useful, life-changing information.

The Unfair Advantage is a brand new publication made for sharing the unfair advantages that you have found in your life.

Everyone has at least one bite of information that the rest don’t. Something that, if possessed, gives you an unfair advantage over the rest of the world.

You know something that others don’t, something that is making you outstandingly good. And that is what we seek: fresh and life-changing information.

It can come in the form of a trick, an experience, a valuable lesson, or a technique to take something to the next level…

Whether it gives you an edge in medicine or happiness, every topic will be accepted.

To submit your unfair advantages, you’ll have to comply with 3 basic rules that, if followed, will guarantee the publication of your article.

1. The Content Must Be Unique

If everyone knows, there’s no unfair advantage.

For that reason, the information in your article must be NEW or UNCOMMON. The reader should feel that he’s getting fresh and life-changing knowledge.

You can take ideas from books, podcasts, movies… or you can create your own. We prefer the latter!

2. The Content Can’t Be Written By a Harvard Teacher

Don’t get us wrong; we’ve nothing against Harvard!

What we are trying to say is that your articles cannot be written as scientific research: serious, dull, and difficult to understand.

No matter how good the information is, if the reader can’t get past the first paragraph, it’s useless.

Keeping your reader engaged is key, that is why we highly recommend you avoid using Harvard teacher language.

A great way to make your articles more enjoyable would be by adding a bit of humor to the stories or visual content to explain your points.

3. The Content Should Be Lean

We seek fat-free articles.

Some ideas require almost no explanation, while others need a lot of backup and context. So we encourage you to write lean content, using only the words that you consider necessary.

For that reason, we’ve set a very large interval of words accepted.

  • Minimum length: 100 words
  • Maximum length: 1,500 words

That’s it!

If you follow these 3 basic rules, congratulations! Your article will be welcomed in The Unfair Advantage.

Now, there are only two parts left to this guideline:

  1. The boosters (things that’ll give you a fast pass to be published with us).
  2. The Rest (how to write for us, how to format your article, and all the boring stuff).

Due to the low amount of articles that we are uploading, you might need to use one of these 3 boosters to get published.

1. Images in-article

We love images. They act as a break for the reader and support your article with something easier to process than just words.

You can use self-made images from Canva, pictures from AI, or drawings of your own. Anything visual (and useful) will do the trick.

2. Short Paragraphs

A 5 lines paragraph on your computer it’s like a wall on your mobile phone.

Paragraphs multiply from one device to another, so for that reason, keeping your paragraphs short (4 lines tops) will give you an edge to publish with us.

Additionally, the use of italics and bold to make the article easier to read will be taken into consideration.

3. Intriguing Titles

It’s not only about the thing you are selling, but HOW you sell it.

An intriguing (not clickbaity) title will give you an edge too. Intriguing can mean different, unique, strange, doubtful… anything not dull.

Think about it this way, were you to stumble across your article, would you click?

FORMATTING

Format however you want. Really.

SHOULD MY ARTICLE BE “UNFAIR”?

No! Do not mistake ‘unfair’ with greed, cruelty, or meanness.

The idea of unfairness is simply to have information that others don’t, to improve and be better.

WHAT TOPICS ARE ACCEPTED?

Everything that could be understood and used by an average person. We don’t want spaceship engineering (unless you can explain it using common words).

You can write about any topic you like as long as you give your readers an unfair advantage on it!

Thank you for publishing with The Unfair Advantage!
