The Ultimate Guide to Non-Alcoholic Drinks in Seattle
Seattle, the Emerald City, has long been known for its iconic coffee culture, craft beer scene, and stunning waterfront views. However, there’s a growing buzz in the city, and it’s not just from caffeine and hops. Seattle is embracing the sober scene with enthusiasm, offering a vibrant array of non-alcoholic beverage options that are as innovative as they are refreshing. Join us as we delve deeper into the increasing interest in NA offerings and discover some unique local NA creations.
The Rise of Non-Alcoholic Beverages in Seattle
As the world becomes more health-conscious and people seek alternatives to traditional alcoholic drinks, Seattle has taken the lead in offering a rich and diverse selection of non-alcoholic options. With an emphasis on well-being and inclusivity, many bars and restaurants in the city have incorporated NA beers, mocktails, and non-alcoholic spirits into their menus.
Seattle’s growing fascination with non-alcoholic beverages reflects a broader national trend. Across the United States, there’s been a surge in the demand for non-alcoholic drinks. This trend is driven by a variety of factors, including health-conscious consumers, individuals in recovery, and those simply seeking to enjoy a night out without the side effects of alcohol.
In Seattle, it’s not just a trend; it’s a lifestyle. For many, it’s a way to enjoy the vibrant social scene without the hangover, and for others, it’s a personal choice for health or recovery. The options are more creative and tantalizing than ever before.

Local NA creations in Washington State
In addition to offering a diverse range of NA beverages from around the world, Seattle proudly features non-alcoholic beers, wines, and spirits made right here in Washington State. Let’s explore some of the local establishments that are contributing to Seattle’s thriving sober scene.
- Rachel’s Ginger Beer (Multiple Locations in WA): Rachel’s Ginger Beer is proudly made in Seattle and has multiple locations in Washington State, including Seattle, and offers handcrafted ginger beers with various flavors that can be enjoyed as refreshing non-alcoholic beverages or used as mixers for mocktails. These can also be shipped nationwide.
- Fremont Brewing (Fremont, Seattle): Earlier this year, Seattle’s Fremont Brewing embraced the non-alcoholic trend with the release of its first NA beer. A family-owned brewery founded in 2009 that’s known for its craft brews, they’ve now expanded their offerings to cater to the growing demand for alcohol-free options by introducing an IPA (of course) earlier this year. A visit to Fremont Brewing is an opportunity to taste their latest creation and experience the brewery’s commitment to innovation, quality, and diverse tastes. Don’t worry, for my zero-proof only comrades out there, they also have a 0.0% ABV hop water with a can as cute as her higher-proof friends. Fremont Brewing is truly a dream come true!
- Herb & Bitter Public House (Capitol Hill, Seattle): When it comes to non-alcoholic beverages, Herb and Bitters Public House takes the craft of mocktails to new heights. This Seattle gem offers a range of meticulously concocted mocktail creations that are sure to delight your taste buds and leave you wanting more. With cute names like Lightning Bug, you won’t be able to choose just one mocktail, so I encourage you to try all four!
- Radiator Whiskey (Pike’s Place Market, Seattle): Radiator Whiskey, located in the heart of downtown Seattle, is known for its extensive selection of bourbons and whiskeys. However, they also have a selection of zero-proof or non-alcoholic cocktails for those seeking alcohol-free options in a cozy and rustic setting. Almost any cocktail can be made into a mocktail here, with two N/A beers available (one seasonal or rotating). Plus, delicious food.
- Jøyus (Multiple Locations in WA): With 38 locations (and growing) in the Seattle area to purchase Jøyus, it shouldn’t surprise you to learn that this woman-owned business is the first non-alcoholic winery in the area. Not only that, they’re the only sober-owned and woman-owned non-alcoholic winery in the country and the first to win gold in an industry wine competition. As a sober lady who owns her own business, you can see why Jøyus lands the finale spot on my list. It’s easy to find Joyus non-alcoholic wines in various venues. Add a visit to Joyus to your Seattle itinerary and celebrate your journey with non-alcoholic excellence.
In Seattle, the spirit of innovation is alive and well, even in the sober beverage scene. These local creations not only cater to residents’ tastes but also contribute to the state’s reputation as a hub for unique and quality non-alcoholic beverages.
