The Uinta Mountains Of Utah
Some spectacular scenery
The roads are clear but may be closed after the snow falls.
Utah is known to have beautiful mountains. Visitors often comment on how BIG the mountains are. The mountains surround many of the cities and towns in Utah, including Salt Lake City. Many residents are able to see the mountains daily from their homes.
There are mountain ranges in Utah which are a relatively short drive from the major cities of Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Provo, Utah.
One of those is The Uinta Mountains, which are an east-west chain of mountains in the northeastern part of Utah. The Uinta Mountains extend slightly into the northwest part of Colorado and the southwest part of Wyoming.
It is a beautiful drive to the Uinta Mountains with spectacular scenery in the area.
The name “Uinta” comes from the Ute Indian word Yoov-we-teuh, which means “pine forest” or “pine tree”. As the name implies, there are many pine trees in the mountains.
The rugged mountain is covered with interesting sights and beauty.
Visitors to the state of Utah may find that a side trip to visit The Uinta Mountains would be worth the time and effort. Nature has been kind to the area.
