If you’re just starting the series, you should start here. This series was inspired by a prompt by Christine Graves

I almost choked on my tea.

“I was kidnapped!”

“Yes,” Connelly said and took a sip of his tea.

“Why the heck are you so calm when telling me this? Who kidnapped me? They took my memories and made me think I was someone I’m not,” I put my cup down and rubbed my hands on my thighs. I was trying not to get up and walk a hole in the floor.

“I’ve had time to digest this information. You were kidnapped by an agency. It’s a secret agency that turns teenagers into spies and uses them until they turn 19 then wipes their memories a second time.”

“Please explain that more.”

“There is a test that every single 15-year-old takes that measures their intelligence. This test is given by this agency, but it’s disgusted as a test that’s required by the department of education, and every school must give the test to their students which includes home school students. If the teens score a certain score they are taken from their homes and their memories are wiped.

The teens are placed in an academy where they are trained mentally, physically, and academically. They don’t all make it through the academy. The ones who don’t are sent back to their families with their minds wiped.

“The teens who do make it through the academy move on and become spies.”

“So I guess I made it since I was not sent back home.”

“Yes, you were number one in your class. Crystal, you were the best agent that the agency ever had. If the brain chemistry didn’t change so much after 19, then they would have kept you.”

“Why didn’t they just send me back to my real family?”

“It was too much of a risk. Also, you gained a lot of enemies when you worked for them. They believed giving you a new life would keep you safe”

“Why are you telling me all of this? What is it you are trying to gain?”

“I want to help get your memories back. Your memories about your real family and when you were an agent.” I sat there for a few moments and stared at him.

“Why? what do you want from me?”

“I want to help you find your family, and since you were the best agent, I want you on my team so you can help us find other people like you. Together we can reunite families and take the agency down in the process.”

I didn’t know how to respond. My mouth felt dry. I didn’t move to pick up my cup to wet my tongue. He stared at me with those blue-grey eyes as if trying to read my thoughts.

“Well Crystal, are you in?”

Thank you for reading! I hoped you enjoyed this series. Tell me in the comments do you think I just keep going or do you just want to envision what Crystal would do?
