Of all the leadership skills, traits, and characteristics that we have not only covered in my short articles here but also those I have discovered in life and during my time in the Marine Corps, Vision is probably the hardest one for me to grasp and one that I admire the most.
I get the day-to-day of life. I understand the overall agenda of a “battle plan” but to foresee things that can truly change lives; take the personal computer, the iPad, or the internet for a couple of examples, that truly blows my mind. How did people start thinking of these things??
So, if you’re ready, let’s work on improving ourselves, shall we?
The big idea here is vision is a quality that is admired by many but held by few.
Here’s how vision applies to us:
Continually searching for the next best or next big thing is what advances not only industries but all of mankind and pushes humanity forward.
So, the next step is, let’s put this into action!
If you have a big idea that you want to create but self-doubt has lead to procrastination, try this.
Revisit the initial goal. Feel it, let that feeling take over you. Stoke those flames.
Focus on reasons to do it
Disregard those negative reasons not to do it.
