The Trump Inner Circle And COVID
So many have gotten the virus
They don’t care about taking precautions
Rudy Guiliani is the latest high profile member of Donald Trump’s inner circle who has now come down with the coronavirus. He has been hospitalized in Washington, D.C. after testing positive. Why is it that so many of those close to Trump have gotten COVID? Is it the fact that they are careless because they think they are immune? Do they think there will be no problem if they contract the virus because they will get preferential treatment and recover quickly? Are they making the mistake of listening to Trump and following him?
The coronavirus pandemic has been causing chaos, sickness, and death throughout the world since the early part of 2020. Guidelines have been recommended from the start by esteemed medical professionals. Government officials (with the exception of Trump and some other Republican leaders) have suggested or mandated social distancing and the wearing of masks.
Herman Cain, the Black CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, died after attending Trump’s large rally in Tulsa after the pandemic began. Many other followers of Trump who had been in close proximity to him such as at White House events tested positive for the virus. Some of Trump’s family members and his cabinet got it. Most had mild cases and recovered quickly. Some were apparently given the same treatment which Trump received after his diagnosis.
The most stalwart Trump followers listen to his every word. Trump has not been a fan of masks. Neither are they. Some have protested loudly against masks. Trump has held large rallies and other events where social distancing was not practiced. Many of his supporters have followed his lead and continued to hold large gatherings.
Peter Weber wrote on December 6, 2020, in The Week that the Arizona state House and Senate would close for a week after Republican leaders in the state had met with Rudy Giuliani as he traveled there to protest the election results. They did not practice social distancing, and few wore masks. Guiliani was trying to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s win in Arizona, and he could have been spreading the coronavirus among the legislators.
Giuliani is said to have tested negative twice immediately before he made the trip to Arizona, Michigan, and Georgia. He said he did not experience any symptoms or test positive until more than forty-eight hours after his return. The report said that a person told the New York Times that Guiliani had been feeling ill.
These people not only feel that they are above the law, but they also think they are not going to become affected with the virus or they don’t care.
Guiliani’s son, who has been working as a White House advisor, said he tested positive on November 20. He had appeared with his father in Pennsylvania while they were doing the bidding of Trump.
The medical experts say to social distance and wear masks. They are trying to keep everyone safe and avoid the spread of COVID-19. There is no reason that people should not be complying. They are only putting themselves and everyone else at risk. Everyone wants the pandemic to end, but these people are not helping.
