Introduction

The heart beat of Thanksgiving has traditionally been gathering with family and friends. A delicious meal is typically enjoyed in a home filled with pleasant aromas, hearty laughter, beautiful prayers that reflect gratefulness, and celebrating the blessing of pure togetherness. Dinner plates are usually filled with delicacies too beautiful to devour at lovely restaurants. Special memories are always created during this time of the year.

The pandemics has changed these beautiful customs. However, it hasn’t removed the true meaning of this holiday. It’s time to put everything into proper perspective.

Recovering Truth

As a nation, all the annual Thanksgiving routines have clouded our sense of reality. Traveling great distances to celebrate with loved ones and standing in long grocery lines to purchase foods to prepare a lavish meal are some of the things we typically do this time of the year. Our hectic preparations have caused us to lose sight of the true meaning of this special season.

The intended purpose of Thanksgiving is to engage in reflective gratitude. According to the function of this holiday, individuals should pause to consider their blessings. They should also embrace a spirit of thankfulness.

It’s very simple. Being thankful is the actual meaning of Thanksgiving. So is acknowledging blessings with a heart filled with gratitude.

It’s Just Dangerous Right Now

Things are unbelievably sad about what is going on during the days leading to Thanksgiving.

A lot of people are so focused on maintaining the traditions of the holiday that they have ignored the hazards of the pandemic. It is more important for them to fill airplanes to travel to other locations for a few days of pleasure.

As the coronavirus surges out of control and precious souls are lost in death in record numbers, many people are dismissive of this reality. They continue to resist medical and scientific leaders who have urged engage in mitigation efforts. This is best done by staying home and remaining physically distanced. Here is the real truth about the behavior of so many individuals during this time.

I classify the people who fail to heed the warnings of these professionals as selfish and irresponsible. They are the people who are contributing to the spread of the pandemic. It is more important for them to congest highways to travel to other locations for enjoyment and partying than it is to slow the spread of the coronavirus. It is more important for these people to attend large gatherings and engorge themselves with delicious food, desserts, and beverages than it is to keep others and themselves safe.

All inhabitants of the United States must be committed to being their brother’s keeper and their sister’s keeper by sacrificing the fun rituals of the holiday by simply staying at home and enjoying the company of household residents.

Conclusion

The pandemic has made it too dangerous for Thanksgiving celebrations to be held as usual.

People who are self-indulgent and selfish will continue to disregard safety protocols during this holiday because having a good time is their exclusive priority. We have these individuals to blame for continued increases in the spread of the coronavirus.
