The True Reason Why You Are Here

As human beings, we are naturally curious. About life, love, and the universe. But have you ever wondered why we are here? And what is our purpose?

Why are some of us born into a life of privilege, while others have to really work hard just to survive? Some barely make it to 5 years on this planet while others live to be over 100 years old.

Why?

The answer? I have no idea. I don’t think anyone truly knows. And that is okay.

Instead of answering the big and mostly impossible question of why we are here or what our purpose is in this life, perhaps we could try and answer the question of what our purpose of today is?

How? Let’s start by recognizing this universal truth.

The Gift that is Today.

With the sunrise, comes a new day and new opportunities. A day just like any other day of your past but one that you could work on to build the tomorrow you want. And this moment right now is the only time that you truly own. Use it wisely.

Follow up with gratitude.

What are you grateful for? Today, I am grateful for the warmth and shelter of my home, protecting me from the coldness of winter. How about you?

Set your intentions.

What do you hope to achieve today? Instead of letting the day run you, run the day with intention and purpose. Do you have a habit you want to build or goals you want to achieve? Create or build a few small ones so that you achieve them today. Like a snowball effect, it may roll in something bigger and better than you ever thought possible.

Be Curious And Open To Learning

About the world, the people and the places. Life is all about learning from and with each other. Sometimes it’s not about knowing all answers but asking the right questions.

Be Part of The Solution

From human rights to climate change, the world needs all of us to do our part. We live in a world with very big problems. And it will take all of us to work together to resolve it. Not sure where to start? Start with small micro-actions like saying no to plastic bags and using reusable bags. Or volunteer your time for a cause close to home. You are important and needed in this world.

Be You. Be True.

Every day is an opportunity to work on a better version of yourself. If not you, then who? And remember everyone else is taken so be true, be you.

Final Thoughts

As the sun rises, we may wonder what the day brings. Sometimes it brings warmth and sunshine. Other times, it may bring rain and cold. Every day is the same and yet it is different. What is important though is that you be the driver of today, navigating through life with good intentions and kindness.

As the sun sets and darkness falls, take a moment to pause and remember the day that was today. What were the highlights? What was something you could have done differently? Only by reflecting on questions like these can we find the answers to why we are here today.
