Riddle 2 of Oliver’s challenge read:
“In the realm of fleeting seconds, where joy is but a blink, Grasp not in haste, nor lust for the peak, Instead, linger in moments, the ones that make hearts sing, For in the embrace of the present, your path to the stone shall link.”

The Stone of Present Joys
Standing at the edge of the Mountain of Moments, Oliver knew his next challenge was difficult. The mountain was unique because every place you could grab or step on changed into a short, happy memory — like a child laughing or a beautiful sunrise. But these spots disappeared quickly as well.
Oliver had to again successfully overcome the challenges before the Stone reveled itself.
- The Melody: As Oliver reached for his first grip, the cliff sang with the enchanting melody of a distant flute. At that moment, Oliver hesitated, caught between rushing upward or savoring the sound. When he chose to immerse himself in the music, the handhold firmed up under his grip, allowing him to ascend.
- Echo of a Loved One’s Laughter: As he ascended further, Oliver reached a point where the next handhold burst into the laughter of a loved one he hadn’t heard in years. The laughter was so warm and genuine that it almost halted his climb. However, he composed himself, focused on the laughter, allowing it to envelop him with joy and fond memories. The stone beneath his grasp solidified, confirming his choice.
- The Whisper of Ancient Trees: Almost near the summit, Oliver came across a grip that hummed with the deep, rustling whispers of his memories of forest adventures and youthful wanderings. Here, he nearly lost his way, holding on to these memories for more than a was needed. Fortunately, his exhaustion from the climb, led him to draw strength one by one from each of the memories, and he was able to climb to the top.
Through these challenges, Oliver learned some profound lessons about living in the moment and the power of embracing joy and nostalgia:
- The Melody: Oliver discovered the importance of savoring simple moments of joy instead of always rushing forward.
- Echo of a Loved One’s Laughter: This reminded him of the importance of treasuring cherished memories and the joy they can bring.

3. The Whisper of Ancient Trees: Oliver faced distraction and exhaustion near the summit. This taught him the value of looking back on his life’s best adventures and experiences to find the determination to move forward.
Overall, these challenges taught Oliver the significance of living in the present. By embracing these lessons, he successfully reached the summit and discovered the Stone of Present Joys, symbolizing a life to be fully lived.
The Stone of Future Hopes
Now Oliver had just the last challenge left. The last Riddle read:
“I’m the answer to your quest, a treasure yet untold, In the watery abyss, where mysteries unfold. With every dive, you come closer to me, In this liquid realm, where your future waits to be free.”

Within the confines of the Forest of Reflection, a pond shimmered, its water so crystal-clear that it seemed to mirror the sky. This was no ordinary pond; it was a gateway to what lay ahead in Oliver’s path.
Guarded by a water spirits, who at times were as gentle as morning dew and at others as ferocious as a storm, Oliver knew that reaching the stone at the bottom of this deep pond, would be no simple feat.
As he dived in, the calm water immediately became a swirling vortex of visions, each presenting a different fork in the road of Oliver’s destiny. But in this maze of futures, three traps stood out:
- The Golden Mirage: Oliver first swam into a vision of unimaginable wealth and power, where he was a king among men, celebrated and revered. The allure of this future was strong, and a golden cage started to form around him, attempting to trap him in this enticing dream. However, Oliver reminded himself that riches were not the end goal but merely a means. He broke free from the cage with renewed determination, choosing hope and purpose over materialistic allure.
- The Loneliness: Another vision painted a sad picture of Oliver alone, as a loved one had departed, leaving him in profound solitude. Cold chains of isolation tried to bind him, emphasizing the pain of such a future. But Oliver hoped there are lessons even in solitude. Using this wisdom, he escaped the chains and swam forward.
- The Labyrinth of Choices: Lastly, a winding maze of endless paths lay before Oliver, symbolizing a future riddled with indecisions. Walls shifted, trying to confuse and trap him in indecisiveness. Recalling the wisdom of trusting his instincts and the value of making hopeful choices, Oliver found his way through the labyrinth, each turn made with confidence and gratitude for the journey.
Having avoided these snares of the future, Oliver’s determination shone bright, convincing the water spirit of his unwavering hope and gratitude. They than led Oliver to the deepest part of the pond where the Stone of Future Hopes awaited, its glow the embodiment of a future embraced with hope, gratitude, and wisdom.
Upon Oliver’s return, the Tree’s leaves shimmered even brighter, its aura radiating with a palpable energy. “Ah, young seeker,” it began, its voice more profound, more resonant, “You have successfully uncovered the three secret stones, which have provided you with invaluable life lessons.”
“Here is the secret as I had promised: ‘Gratitude transcends mere words of thanks. It is the art of embracing every part of existence — past’s lessons, present’s fleeting joys, and the aspirations of tomorrow. Through this practice, dear Oliver, you nurture a heart that perceives the profound beauty beneath the superficial layers. This, my dear friend, is the essence of genuine gratitude, a treasure that enriches the soul.’”
Oliver started practicing gratitude in his daily life. He thanked his parents for their love and support, his friends for their companionship, and even the simple joys of nature.
One day, as Oliver sat under the magical Tree, he realized something extraordinary. The more grateful he was, the more his thirst for knowledge was fulfilled. It was as if the universe rewarded his gratitude by granting him even more wisdom.
Filled with newfound wisdom he no longer yearned to be the wisest person in his region, for he understood that true wisdom came from being grateful for his already existing knowledge.
As time passed, Oliver became known for his knowledge and his kind and grateful heart. People from far and wide came to seek his advice and wisdom, and he shared the secret of gratitude with all. And so, the young boy who sought knowledge found something far more significant — the magic of gratitude.
