The Transcendental and The Extraordinary

If your literary tastes are like mine, you have a treat in store. ;-)

Like that American guy whose name I don’t remember says, “There are only two things of value in books; the transcendental and the extraordinary”.

My other favourites are The Kite Runner, To Kill a Mockingbird and A Town Like Alice. That’ll give you an idea, if you know these books. I may be a little sentimental.

My non-fiction favourite is “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl. It is a magic book. I read it first as a teenager, then in my twenties then later again. Each time it is a different book.

I like “Guns, Germs and Steel” by Jared Diamond as bedtime reading.

Angela’s Ashes is a great book too, the first page tells you what the book is going to be like. I am sorry I never met Frank McCourt. I saw an interview with him and he seemed so charming and humble. His brother Malachy wrote a book too, he was a minor actor.
