The Tousled Tutor #11 — It’s hard to say goodbye

I know my cat, Tab, must think me a hermit. I spend so much time alone indoors. But sometimes I interact with people — sometimes they even delight me — and then before I know it, our time is spent.

Today, I said farewell to some lovely people I’ve gotten to know.

They’re advancing and need me no more.

I had hoped I would get to keep them longer — but this is just not how it is with pupils.

Eventually, they leave. They advance. They matriculate. They graduate.

And I am left here alone — with this funny new mug that one of them left me.

Funny, yes. Don’t they know, I’m not a “people person?”

I’m a hermit.
