Whenever I want more of all the good and wholesome benefits online:

  • More Visibility
  • More Traffic
  • More Subscribers
  • More Audience
  • More Members
  • More Profit
  • And making a greater difference

I do one simple and powerful thing over and over again with ridiculously relentless consistency:

I create and promote more content

And just in case that’s not enough of a great reason, here are

The Top 7 Reasons I Create & Promote Content

1. I love to bust limitations: I did not finish my PhD in counseling psychology because my professors told me I could not write and I believed them. So I never wrote my dissertation.

Which made it kind of funny when, a few years later, I started writing a weekly relationship column for the local newspaper that exploded my private practice, and eventually led to this online gig.

The icing on the cake came when one of those professors signed up for one of my online content creation workshops.

I get a kick out of busting my own limitations and those of others.

2. I am committed to modeling what I teach: I see so many “Online Goo-Roos” teaching things they no longer do.

Did you know there’s 3 styles of “online training”:

Style 1: Watched a webinar or went to a workshop on it. Never did it. Gonna teach it to you. Follow my RLH Rx: Run Like Hell!

Style 2: Did it at one time in the past, but no longer does it. Gonna teach you. Approach with caution. You might learn something useful. But you’re not gonna learn what really works right now and in the future.

Style 3: Did it. Still does it every day. Gonna teach you. Go with this style because you’re gonna get what got them to where they are, PLUS what’s really working now, and stay on the leading edge of what’s working for the future.

Style 3 is for me!

3. I can’t not create content: Once you have done this for awhile, you can get to the place where you can’t not create.

It’s funny, when I first started writing that 650 word relationship column my thought was:

“How am I going to come up with a new idea each week?”

The question quickly changed to:

“How do I narrow all these ideas down into just one column?”

You begin to see through “Article Eyes” so you can “Article-Ize” everything.

You feel compelled to do something with this idea flood.

I consider this to be a good place to be.

4. Content is the single most powerful tool: There are very few tools out there that cost you nothing but time that get such an incredible return on effort.

Content creation and promotion is the single most powerful tool I have found for creating more prospects, publicity and profits.

One of the first times I spoke at an internet marketing seminar the promoter pulled me aside and whispered conspiratorially:

“You know, Jeff, my entire business is built around content.”

Me: “I know.”

Promoter: “How could you know? My staff signed a non-disclosure agreement! Who told you?”

Me: “Relax. No one told me anything. Every thing online is built around content. All online businesses are built around content.”

Promoter: “Well, yeah, but I keep it a secret.”

Me: “Well, I don’t.”

5. More prospects: Content creation and promotion brings my students and me new high quality traffic and prospects each and every day.

What else do you know that does that so consistently for free?

6. More publicity: Content creation and promotion can dramatically up your visibility and “expert-ability.”

When someone is checking you out and they Google your name and see article after article by you, that is priceless publicity.

7. More profits: Prospects that come from good content become good customers and clients.

I could make this harder for you if I wanted. I mean, I almost have Ph.D. ;-)

But why?

I prefer to keep things simple and powerful and pass it on to you.
