The Top 200 Medium Tags

Choose your topics and tags wisely.

There are very few resources that indicate what kind of audience or interest each topic my generate so I felt it might be worthwhile to put together a basic resource for those facing the same struggle.

When you tag your story, Medium will then distribute it on all the relevant tag pages which is why using your full tag allowance is critical. Additionally, your story will get returned higher in the search results based on what topics people are searching for which means that your tagging directly affects your relevancy in the returned search results.

Groups of topics broken down by associated tags here.

In a previous article, I gave a high-level overview of the top 15 tags (with article counts) along with a breakdown of the closest associated tags (plus article counts) for the topics highlighted in the group's image. You can find that post here:

In this article, I’ll be supplying a list of the top 200 topics in Medium supplied alphabetically to make it easy to find the topics and tags that you’re interested in (with article counts) and further below is a list of the top 60 articles sorted by article count from highest to lowest.
