The Time I Received Pokemon Band-Aids as a Gift

Three years ago, my youngest sister, who is about nineteen years younger than me, picked out an unusual Christmas gift for me. She gave me Pokemon Band-Aids.

While unexpected, they were an excellent present. I’ve always liked Pokemon, and they came in handy. I certainly appreciated them.

Even so, her statement amused me. She said, “I can’t wait for you to use these.”

I knew she felt excited about me being able to use the new gift, but it still meant by implication that she eagerly awaited injuries that Band-Aid wearing was contingent on.

Indeed, she felt very pleased the first time she saw me sporting one.
