The Time I could Touch the Sun!
Poetry Prompt- First Sunrise
I remember that first sunrise
Gazing as the dark still sky
Shimmered and transformed
With a beauty that defied!
The unrelenting darkness lightening
A medley of colors bursting forth
Changing slowly but gorgeously
Joyous and inspirational — both!
My voice rang out happily, arm outstretched
In tune with mama dear
“Hello Sun”, I giggled, I remember.
Childhood- when even stars seem near!
