“Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.”- Seneca

Travelling allows us to break free from the routines of daily life and experience the wonders of the world. The joys of travel are truly immeasurable, and personally, I absolutely love it.

Whether it’s a business trip or a family vacation, one of the greatest joys for me lies in the thrill of discovery. Each new destination offers a treasure trove of history, art, culture, cuisine, waiting to be explored.

Travelling also increases our resilience to stress as we learn to expect the unexpected and deal with it.

Breaking away from comfort zone

Stepping out of our comfort zones is an integral part of the travel experience. I vividly remember facing language barriers during a business trip to Stavanger and Bergen in Norway.

On one occasion, I missed a bus because I couldn’t understand the signs and the locals couldn’t explain in English.

Similarly, in Tokyo, I had difficulty communicating the office address to a taxi driver and had to rely on a colleague for assistance.

Fortunately, technology has made it easier to overcome language barriers with tools like Google Translate.

Travelling to unwind, recharge and rediscover ourselves

Some journeys leave an indelible mark on our lives, as was the case with my visit to Rishikesh.

It has been four years since that trip, yet the transformative power of that experience lingers with me to this day.

I love nature and therefore did a solo trip to Rishikesh to feel the goodness of nature. Nestled at the foothills of majestic Himalaya beside the river Ganga, Rishikesh is a perfect fusion of tranquility, adventure and spirituality.

It is also considered the Yoga capital of the world and the top recommended destinations for solo travels in India.

The biggest attraction for me was the holy Ganga river gushing through the heart of Rishikesh. My hotel was close to the Triveni Ghat on the river.

The Ganga river front and the ghats are well maintained . I loved sitting on the ghats and dip my feet in the water. It was the most serene and magical experience.

As a music lover, I couldn’t resist visiting the Beatles Ashram, tucked away in a secluded corner near the Rajaji National Park. The graffiti-painted walls of the ashram added an intriguing and artistic touch to the experience.

The joys of travel are boundless.

In conclusion, travel has the power to liberate us from our daily routines and expose us to the wonders of the world. The joys of travel are multifaceted, from the thrill of discovery to the personal growth and resilience we develop along the way.

Moreover, it provides us with an opportunity to unwind, recharge, and reconnect with nature and ourselves.
