Summary

The article discusses alarming future global events expected before 2050, including increased political extremism, catastrophic natural disasters due to climate change, transformative advancements in artificial intelligence, the potential use of nuclear weapons by rogue nations, and China's intent to reunify with Taiwan, possibly by force.

Abstract

The author paints a picture of a future fraught with political and social turmoil, exacerbated by climate change and technological advancements. Political extremism is seen as a growing threat to societal stability, as evidenced by recent events such as the storming of the U.S. Capitol and election denial trends worldwide. Climate change is projected to cause severe coastal flooding, affecting millions of people living in vulnerable areas. The rise of artificial intelligence is anticipated to revolutionize industries but also poses a significant risk to job security for many. Meanwhile, the proliferation of nuclear weapons and the ambitions of nations like Iran, North Korea, and China suggest an increasingly precarious global security landscape. The article underscores the potential for conflict, particularly in the

The Terrifying Events That Will Happen Before 2050

History can be scary… but what about the future?

A few months ago, a close friend made a confession. He leaned in, lowered his voice, and admitted that he was scared about the future. “It’s terrifying. Political extremism is destroying society. It’s not getting better. If anything, the violence is getting worse!”

He’s right. Trump supporters made history by violently storming the Capitol building on January 6th. Election denial makes it difficult for both sides of the political aisle to admit defeat. And to make things worse, social media places us in echo chambers, and makes it difficult to find common ground with people of opposing views.

The former President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, recently claimed election fraud after losing in a landslide. And, if the trend continues, dictators over the coming decades will use that excuse to maintain their grip on power.

Here are four other examples of events that will happen before 2050:

Cities Will Experience Catastrophic Natural Disasters Due To Climate Change

“Sea level along the U.S. coastline is projected to rise, on average, 10–12 inches in the next 30 years,” per NOAA. For context, that will be as much as the rise in sea level measured over the last 100 years. That’s not good news for the 127 million Americans in coastal counties.

Due to climate change, flooding is expected to become more frequent and severe. By 2050, scientists expect flooding to occur approximately ten times more than it does today.

Artificial Intelligence Will Change The World

“The place where A.I. may have the biggest impact in the near future is self-driving cars,” per the University of Southern California. “Thanks to Google, autonomous cars are already here, but watch for them to be ubiquitous by 2030. Driverless trains already rule the rails in European cities, and Boeing is building an autonomous jetliner.”

A billion people could lose their jobs to A.I. over the coming decades, per Time Magazine. It’s poised to take over every aspect of our life — including medicine, agriculture, and education. So, countries around the world will have to deal with a large percentage of working-class people without a job… or even a way to put food on the table.

Rogue Nations Will Be Prepared To Use Nuclear Weapons

The bomb dropped on Hiroshima is like a firecracker compared to modern nuclear weapons.

The United States has approximately 4,000 nuclear warheads in its arsenal. Russia is testing bombs that can decimate entire countries. Also, newly designed nuclear weapons can create radioactive tsunamis that render targeted areas unlivable for decades.

Everyone knows the world is getting more dangerous. Rogue nations such as Iran & North Korea are desperately trying to obtain nuclear weapons. And if they develop operational nukes (that actually work), all bets are off regarding the stability of the global world order.

It’s also worth mentioning China. According to CNBC, “China is rapidly expanding its nuclear arsenal and could have 1,000 nuclear warheads by 2030, part of Beijing’s ambitious military buildup.”

China Vows Reunification With Taiwan

China recently announced that it’s prepared to use force to reunify the mainland with Taiwan. “We will continue to strive for peaceful reunification with the greatest sincerity and the utmost effort,” said Xi Jinping. “But we will never promise to renounce the use of force.”

In a congressional hearing, General Mark Miley said China wants the capability to invade Taiwan by 2027 (if force becomes necessary). Despite trying to maintain a tactic of strategic ambiguity, President Joe Biden acknowledged that Taiwan would receive help from U.S. forces in the event of an invasion. And if U.S. Forces are directly confronted by Chinese troops, it doesn’t take a genius to realize that’s World War 3 right there.
