The Temptation Of Cake

I won’t eat you!

Photo by American Heritage Chocolate on Unsplash

You’re sitting at my table and you look all posh,

But I really couldn’t eat all that nosh!

Creamy, textured walls,

Tasty chocolate dripping like silky waterfalls!

I must refrain from this sugar-coated temptation,

Though my mouth waters like it’s gone insane!

I think of all the calories,

Which means I’ll burn my salary,

But ah! temptation; Why not!

This is driving me insane,

I don’t need your sugarcane!

I don’t want to feel like my larder,

That only makes my workouts harder!

But here we go again;

I just cannot refrain!

So I won’t eat you cake!

Only one piece I will take.
