The Taxi Ride
In the backseat of the taxi I look at the night sky and the city lights As the wind attacks my hair And cuddles my skin
Summer nights always make me feel Something that others claim to only feel in winter This taxi ride is no different A sense of yearning mixed with sadness clutches at my heart
The driver is quiet and I am grateful Yearning intensifies as I look at the crescent moon I feel like I lost something that can never be recovered And the pain in my heart grows
Finally I am back home I wish I knew what this yearning means Why does it physically hurt Especially during summer nights
