the Talking Clouds
i’ll let the clouds tell the story

A sky so bright, it did not lie It told the stories of a star-filled night
Of times to come, of times ago Of times come fast, of times gone slow
I listened to her to see what she’d say She asked for silence as she closed the day
Would she talk, what would she tell me Each bright star, it did so spell me
In a gaze, I saw the light The darkness around could not hide this night
I wanted some thunder, I asked for a shout But those stories were told without any sounds
I begged for lighting and a shooting star To tell me the answers inside my heart
But she simply shone bright and held back the clouds And waited till I could listen without any sounds
So I laid on my blanket and peered through the night I held her hand and we dreamed of what might
