The Talented Human Mind
How the mind of a hybridized species blossoms in different directions
When it comes to people and their talents, you can’t help but notice how different we are. Some of us think very broadly and love to look at the big picture of things. Others notice the most minuscule details, and they won’t allow themselves to miss a single flaw out of things. Most of all, it doesn’t matter what the case may be whether it has to do with a home project or something career-related, our train of thought follows us into anything.
But this is what makes us unique as people, and we have been this way for the longest. To be frank, I would state that upon our creation, we more than likely looked all the same with a relatively equal mindset. As we branched off as a species into different parts of the world, our minds changed depending on the atmosphere we stumbled upon. Those of us who remained in Africa knew how to harvest the crops of the land and hunt some of the largest and most dangerous game animals for food.
Then as humans moved into colder climates, we had to learn to stay warm and adapt to a scarcer supply of food and water. We had wandered far from home and began to change genetically just as our habits did. Humans wandered all across the earth, and even found refuge beyond the frozen tundra and even made it to the coastal islands. And all while doing this, humans met other groups of humans and began to expand into larger communities.
We weren’t like other animals who are all basically the same as others — we had hybridized with each other. It made us stronger and was essential for our survival as we carried on. Most of all, this allowed for our brains to all become unique, and grow in different ways. This is why we are so different as individuals, and why we all choose different paths in life.
It has enabled us to represent our talent in many different ways and is why we do and say what we choose. We have different personalities and ways of expression that are unique, and I am certain would not be representative out of the first humans. So, how has a hybridized mind brought about many talents? Well, there are countless examples to show you, so let's look at a few.
I’ve met many brilliant people, who have genuinely done well for themselves. Some of them are in medical school, studying to become a doctor one day. Others never went to school, and went straight to work, and worked hard to achieve the lifestyle they attain today. Let me first tell you about friends of mine, who started school as a biology majors.
They were always quiet, and living their thoughts, a lot, not even making an attempt to talk to anyone. It was almost like they inhabited a unique world, all in their heads at that. They loved to study, and do schoolwork and other assignments always came easy to them. They absolutely devoted themselves to their subjects, and always made the highest grades as well. When I asked them what they liked to do for fun, they said, “I like to study, and get lost in my brain because it’s what keeps me happy.”
A most interesting perspective indeed, and it’s what pushed them to pursue medical school. They wanted to be immersed in education and for a long period of time. They just didn’t want to consult with anyone and wanted to isolate themselves in their thoughts and education because it’s what they love to do best. They still have just less than a decade to go before they can become a full-fledged physician.
Then there are other friends of mine who were almost the absolute opposite. They always hated school, and barely passed their classes throughout their educational career. They were never able to really think to themselves and instead were extremely extroverted, taking pleasure in talking with anyone and everyone. They always hated the idea of higher education, and instead wanted to go straight to work after high school, and that’s exactly what they did.
But I have to reiterate from the above article I published before, that education doesn’t define a person at all. Instead, it’s all about the talent that they hold within them. So, recall I mentioned that they were extroverted and always eager to talk to people. Well, they decided to enter a sales job, and they absolutely flourished in it. After 2 years of success in meeting their quotas, they were promoted to a managing partner, and drive a brand-new car each year that’s parked in the garage of the house he bought.
Two different minds, one introverted and one extroverted. They both perform differently, but both have immense talent that they put out in their own ways. There is no right answer to how someone should think, how you think is determined at birth. To change how your mind works would be unhealthy and would sap away your individuality.
Both of these individuals, myself, and even all whom choose to read this have a unique mind that is a product of our hybridization. The first humans may have all had one system of thought, and that’s just what worked for them. But today, we are so different, hybridized, and have evolved into a species beyond what we thought was possible out of us. We are unique, talented, and we all have different brains that we come equipped with. And we shouldn’t ever question how we think, it’s just how we’re programmed to do so, and how we evolved for the better.
