The Sweet Berry of the Wolf
Juicy and tart

Goji berry, or Wolfberry, comes from Asia, but it also inhabits the Americas. Popular in Chinese medicine and cuisines, some believe Goji berries increase longevity and youthfulness. They look like little tomatoes because it’s a nightshade.
Two thousand years ago, folklore tells of a doctor who visited a village of centenarians. He observed those who drank water from the wells nearest the goji berry bushes lived the longest.
He speculated that the berries fell into the wells, infusing their juices into the waters. A recent study suggests they are dense with antioxidants.
