The Sway

is something I love from the heart

Sometimes I can’t go out to meet you Feel the breeze calming my frazzled face Expectant strides shaking the earth beneath A longing within fired only by Her grace

The wind is musical, teasing my soul Any time now, my heart is ready to soar One glimpse, one flick, please do it, I pray When you sway, I come alive with a roar

This sway is not of the flesh, but the spirit Your throb is not a rush but slow Nature creates, destroys and revels in play I finally claim a piece of her grand show

Swaying as branches, in unison or not What secrets do you utter while the draft lasts? Caressing your neighbour, mingling your leaves Time is precious; you need to speak fast

No lover have I seen so patient till now Or selfless in giving as the swaying plants No need to hold on, no need to grieve Love is right now, and always, they chant
