The Surprise of a Holiday Party

An abundance of fun

Do anything, but let it produce joy. -Walt Whitman

I slipped out of the house yesterday afternoon to quickly pick up a few things at the store. I wanted to get a few ingredients to make some Christmas treats. Little did I know that while I was gone, my son would be setting up a party. It was a party for two. During my 100-day journey exploring abundance, I believe that having fun always creates an overflow of joy.

Before I had left, he asked me some questions about Christmas dinner. He was curious whether I would like tacos, chili, or spaghetti. He seemed to be scrolling through a type of menu on the laptop. I would soon be in for a delightful surprise!

When I came back, I noticed both laptops were set up on the dining room table. Why would that be? Then I understood when he told me I was invited to a Christmas party! What a delight to behold. In this reality, it will just be the three of us for Christmas this year, but in the virtual world, I can come to my son’s purple house for a festivity fit for royalty. In the online game Roblox, we were able to go to Bloxburg to celebrate together.

His dining table was laid out with all kinds of delicious food: tacos, spaghetti, chili, cheesecake, gingerbread cookies, a gingerbread house, a green jello mold, salad, and more. He sure is a fantastic party host!

My character in this game is named Tristiana. After I enjoyed eating some of the party food, my son, Enderblox, took me for a tour around his virtual home. In his backyard, he has a lovely pool and some gym equipment. For the party, he recently added an ice skating rink! When you enter it, your ice skates are automatically put on your feet. This is my kind of ice-skating! Complete with a giant, decorated Christmas tree, his backyard was ready for the holidays!

I also got a tour of his Awesome Cafe. He cooks and sells delicious food and drinks there. I was then lead to a VIP area, or so I thought. It turns out it was a trap! When I stepped in, I fell down into a jail cell! Oh my! How my son loves jokes!

After that, I got to see his secret lair, all in purple and white. It was all decked out with a grand piano and lots of great furniture. It looked like the perfect getaway apartment. I would love to stay there for a vacation.

I am so grateful for my son inviting me to his Christmas party! In this virtual world, he created an oasis of fun. This is a lesson that you can create anything you want in this world. If you focus on fun and joy, it can be yours.

My prayer and my intention for you today is that you find something fun to do. Create a list of things to look forward to. Post them where you can see them. Find ways to create joy in your days. You are a creator.
