The Sunlit Path

“Keep your face always toward the sunshine, and shadows will fall behind you”

Keep your eyes fixed ahead On the sunlit path before you Where the way is filled with light And warmth surrounds each step

Though shadows may loom behind And darkness gathers there Keep walking steadily on Into the sun’s bright glow

Do not turn back in fear Of what may follow you But stay the course ahead Where daylight guides your way

When storms arise to block the sun And gloom obscures the road Wait patiently for sunlight’s return It will come again, have hope

If you but face the light always And let it lead you on The shadows cannot bind you For they will fall behind

Where you walk in sunlit grace No darkness can prevail So keep your face unto the sun And walk in light and joy
