Can you be young and a millionaire at the same time? Absolutely, yes.

Can you be incredibly skilled in your job and young at the same time? Absolutely not.

For two years, I searched for the secret of success without finding it. On the internet, I saw millionaires younger than me, and I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. Then, I uncovered the secret of success, and I realized that I wasn’t doing anything wrong at all.

With this quick article, I’m saving you two years of your life. Today, I want to share with you the harsh truth about “the secret of success.”

1. What is Success?

This is a million-dollar question, and perhaps there isn’t and never will be a single right answer. Depending on the kind of person you are, “success” can encompass a multitude of different meanings.

For the sake of simplicity, throughout this article, I will refer to “success” as professional and financial success — excelling in one’s career and accumulating substantial wealth.

In my opinion, however, success also involves cultivating relationships with those we hold dear, achieving such tranquility that we can sleep well at night, and being able to spend quality leisure time doing what we love. But let’s return to the more conventional understanding of success.

2. Expensive Cars Are Almost Always Driven by Older People.

I have a great fondness for luxury cars, and whenever I’m on the road, I immediately notice one passing by.

As I continued to observe these beautiful cars, I began to realize that most of the time, they were being driven by older individuals. With each passing month, I became more aware that exceptions to this trend were truly rare.

This phenomenon held particularly true for comfortable and luxurious cars. When it came to sporty and fast vehicles, there were slightly more young drivers, but they were still in the minority.

This phenomenon can only be observed in real life, on the highways of our cities. On the internet, you might come across young show-offs, and perhaps the car isn’t even theirs — it could be rented or borrowed from someone else.

3. What the Elderly Person in the Rolls-Royce Told Me.

And so, after two years, my search has come to an end, and I’ve grasped the secret. While I didn’t speak with any of these individuals, they all conveyed something to me.

I understood that: Economic success is a consequence of professional success: if you excel in your craft, you’ll attract numerous clients, and with satisfied clients, becoming prosperous becomes inevitable.

Building upon this foundation, I realized another thing: Being wealthy depends on various factors — how much you work, your luck, your family background, and where you were born in the world.

However, being incredibly skilled in your profession is solely contingent on two things: dedication + time.

Being a professional will make you wealthy. Being wealthy won’t make you a professional.

This is precisely why most expensive cars are driven by older individuals. These people invested decades into mastering their craft, requiring immense dedication to reach that point. It’s not something that happens overnight. To have many clients, you need to be exceptional but to become exceptional, you need years of experience — and by then, your 50th birthday arrives.

4. What the Young Person in the Ferrari Told Me.

Those Ferraris make a captivating sound, so no, even in this case, I couldn’t converse with them directly. However, that rumble conveyed even more to me: not all beautiful cars are driven by the elderly — exceptions are rare but they do exist.

As I mentioned at the outset: Can you be young and a millionaire at the same time? Absolutely, yes. Can you be incredibly skilled in your job and young at the same time? Absolutely not.

Nevertheless, this doesn’t negate the possibility of being born into a millionaire family or receiving a Ferrari as a gift. Perhaps that young man won the lottery, or maybe he’s exceptionally adept at understanding his craft and became wealthy more swiftly.

In essence, luck exists, exceptions exist, and there are many paths to becoming wealthy, including one that involves playing the lottery.

5. The Harsh Truth About the Secret of Success.

So, what is the secret to success? The secret exists, and it’s this: there is no secret.

There’s no magical formula for becoming wealthy. The only thing you can do is embrace the notion that it will take time. You must become exceptionally skilled in your craft and learn to manage your savings wisely.

When I began my search, this wasn’t what I was seeking, but I was younger and more naive. Don’t compare yourself to the people you see on the internet, in movies, or famous individuals. Compare yourself to real people, the ones you see on the street. Well, consider this advice as the second secret to success.
