Acrostic Poem
The Strings that Sing
A poem about my favorite instrument
All of the world’s emotions
Come to life as the fingers strum
On the strings that masterfully unfold
Unsaid words that tell the world
Stories that in mere words could not be told
The unbridled joy and the endless pain
Infinite are the combinations that six strings can bring
Chords are the mode in which they sing
Girls love a man who can make them sway
Unaware they give their hearts away
I did have my brief stint with the six-string too
To no avail, yet someday I hope
Albeit not a pro, but a strummer I’ll be
Redo my vows in a melody to dear wifey over her favorite cup of tea!
This is in response to a prompt by Agnes Laurens on a favorite musical instrument. Geetika Sethi here is my guitar after your beautiful take on the sitar!
I am going to further tag Julene Cole Maryam Merchant Lily Dune Terry L. Cooper Adriana Sim Chloe Hill Indubala Kachhawa Elan Cassandra Pene Hodge Emily Wilcox to give this a shot, consider this prompt to write an acrostic poem and take a shot at telling us your fav instrument to play or listen to!
