The Strange Life of David Huggins

A Bizarre Intergalactic Love Story For the Ages

I don’t know anyone personally that didn’t find their “first time” to be a bizarre, foreign experience. That being said, David Huggins claims to have lost his virginity in a way that puts us all to shame. See, Huggins says that at seventeen years old he lost his virginity to an alien woman. A straight-up extraterrestrial. So buckle up for the tale of a love so strong that it inspired an entire documentary known as Love and Saucers.

True or False?

In preparation for this post (and the greatest form of entertainment) I watched an interview with Huggins after a screening of Love and Saucers. Huggins is seen sitting in an uncomfortable-looking chair, soaked in the intense glare of stage lights as the interview begins. You could assume that the ratio of doubters to wide-eyed believers in the crowd, all gawking up at him, would be unbalanced. Based on what I’ve told you so far, I feel you can reasonably infer which group was in the majority.

Despite all of this, however, Huggins exudes this unmistakable sense of confidence. He sits up straight in his chair. He crosses his legs comfortably. Without hesitation, he answers each question asked of him. One might see him as a man incapable of lying. Others may see nothing but a master salesman. As in most strange tales, that topic is largely up for debate.

The Birds and the Bees…Um…Aliens

David Huggins was raised in rural Georgia and claims to have led a pretty normal life in the beginning. Then when Huggins was 8 years old, things started to get a little strange.

Huggins claims his first alien encounter was with a being that he can only describe as of tiny stature and covered in thick hair. Oh yeah, and this tiny little alien had bright yellow eyes. I almost forgot that little detail. Apparently this being spoke to him, demanding his attention saying, David. Behind you. From this point on Huggins claims to have had multiple instances of contact with other-worldly beings such as an “insect-like” entity that he claims looks similar to a praying mantis (I don’t want to visualize that one at all) and, of course, your ever-popular Greys.

Here comes the part you’ve all been waiting for. When Huggins hits seventeen he recalls walking along a wooded path not far from his property. After walking for a bit, he happens upon the alien that he was destined to get down and dirty with. Huggins describes this alien woman as remarkably similar to the typical human form of female- from the neck down.

If you’re having a hard time visualizing all of this I’m about to make your day (or maybe not). Huggins is an avid, talented artist. He’s a painter in fact. When you’re gifted with such talents in life they should be embraced and exerted, right? Huggins certainly thought so. Um, a little warning for what I’m about to include here I guess? Erotic art ahead. If weird alien on human sex is your thing, you’re both in the right place and hard for me to relate to. No judgement, just not my thing.

Let’s take a minute here to really absorb this image. Huggins says that he happened upon this alien woman (who he’ll later identify as Crescent) and things immediately got weird. Apparently Crescent proceeded to just take her clothes off. There was no conversation or anything- she just decides this is the time and the place. Huggins then says that he too disrobed and he’s always stated that he had no explanation of how this came to be or why.

Without getting any more graphic than we already have here, Huggins describes this first encounter with Crescent as “painful”. Nevertheless, this was the beginning of a relationship that would continue for the rest of his days. Huggins describes his first and subsequent encounters with Crescent and numerous other female aliens in a particularly funny way saying, ““I figured, if anything, I’d be losing it in the backseat of a Ford, but it didn’t work out that way at all”. Yeah, man. No kidding.

The Heart Wants What It Wants

In the following years Huggins would claim that he was abducted repeatedly, fathering many alien-human hybrid children. The aliens also apparently prohibited him to disclose any knowledge of their existence or of his feelings for them until the specified age of 50.

Upon coming of age, Huggins was then permitted to share his stories with the world if he so chose. As someone with an innate love of art, Huggins expressed his feelings in the best way he knew how. Since then, he has produced 150 paintings of his experiences and has perplexed all that view them. From paintings of Crescent to his alien-hybrid offspring, he has imprinted his past (whether true, false, or imagined) onto canvas.

To this day, Huggins says that Crescent still visits him on a monthly basis and while he has aged, she has remained the same as when he first encountered her at seventeen. While it isn’t quite The Time Traveler’s Wife, it’s kind of a sweet, albeit strange, concept to imagine.

Love and Saucers, the documentary based upon Huggin’s claims of intergalactic romance, has since been consumed by both supporters and skeptics far and wide. The documentary has a certain surreal essence to it as it is mostly comprised of each of Huggin’s paintings.

Through these paintings, we, as the viewer, get a glimpse into the mind of a man that has experienced extraordinary things in one sense or another. I believe that through his paintings, Huggins seeks to find peace by delving into his own psyche alongside us.
