The Storm Before The Calm

It's April 5th, and I have about 60 days left to renew my lease and I’m not sure what to do. I am in the middle of interviews for different companies because I'm trying to get away from a company that told me I shouldn’t expect a raise anytime soon. Being a Software engineer is a great job but not for some companies who try to give you pennies for your work and they make millions off of a product you’re working on every day. I'm trying my best to be available for work mentally all the while I'm taking off for interviews and going to view apartments its all been feeling like a whirlwind.

My future has been in the works for the last few years and I have been trying to gain as much experience as possible so I can have some leverage and it's been paying off in these interviews so far. The next 60 days are important, it's almost equivalent to the president's first 100 days in office. I have some important things to check off.

  • I need to have another apartment in mind, just in case I don't resign where I am now, maybe close to where I'm working just in case I choose a hybrid company
  • Also, I got two interviews this week that are second-round interviews(technical) and I need to make sure I'm ready and prepared.
  • Be ready to negotiate my salary(I need to look up tips on this to make sure i get the most initially from the new opportunity)
  • Lastly, I need to start preparing my two weeks notice and be prepared to take on a new journey with the next company

In the end, Within the next 60 days, I want to just feel settled and I think I'm taking the correct steps towards doing that. I believe everything is coming together at the right time and I feel way more confident with these interviews, especially with the experience I have now versus 2 years ago. I'm also more open than before and that means opportunities that may require me to relocate. I'm ready and I can feel the shift in the midst of the storm but somehow I feel calm.
