The Power of Poetry
The State We’re In

We’re in the State of What Used to Be Everything’s different now. It’s not the same as it used to be, but that doesn’t mean it has no value. This is a new state, and there still is meaning in it all. The old story of what used to be died a long time ago, but we don’t stop appreciating the impact it had on us and how that changed our perspective on life.
Is this the price we pay? We’re not sure whether bemoaning the loss of what used to be is worthwhile. After all, it has been over for a long time. The only thing that remains is the memory. Might as well make an effort to cherish it every once in a while.
The old values are no longer valid anymore, and we have to stop holding on to them as strongly as before. They can’t really help us push forward or give us hope or purpose anymore.
a picture of two daisies, one in a vase and one without, the one in the vase smaller than the other, half a daisy, as a token of our new transience and preoccupation with the past,
the one without speaks through its double petals of life, waiting to be cut short, the one in the vase feels that its life is more important and is able to talk about more important things, but its voice is stifled by the earthenware prison. We are faced with new forms of value. They are not necessarily better or worse than the old ones; they’re just different. Our challenge now is to learn how to see value in it all and derive meaning from it continuously.
