iPoetry-Paper Poetry Prompt
The Start of a New Experience — The End of You
A trip you will never forget
Your very first camp trip! Excitement wasn't enough to describe To describe what you were feeling
Were you going to meet new friends? What activities were you going to do?
Your family and you got there The farewells were rushed You immediately went with the other kids
You introduced yourself Everyone was so welcoming
The very first day… Everybody swam and ran At night, you were tired Happy but tired
Your friends and you went to your cottage It was so picturesque
To your amaze, they started to tell horror stories You knew they were all made up But it still got you the goosebumps
And more when they started to share A murder of a girl A girl that was taken by a ghost A ghost that wandered around the camp Wandering around while clicking his tongue
Was there some truth to this tale?
After a few more hours, everyone went to sleep You tried, but you couldn’t Those stories affected more than you thought
You tried to use the sounds of nature to calm you The rustling of the wind Pushing the trees to a light swirl Crickets singing to the moon
A clicking sound
You opened your eyes shut You listened more intensely What were you hearing? Could it be?
A clicking sound
You thought it was getting nearer and nearer Was that really what you were thinking of?
You then just realized! You could hear it because it was close to you
You shivered relentlessly You couraged up Managing to posture yourself next to the window above
You peeked Nothing Nothing was there
A loud sigh You were happy But still stressed-out What was that sound?
You waited You did not move an inch The sound was still there You could hear it
A clicking sound
To your fear Now you knew where it came from
It was below you Below the cottage Waiting… Waiting…
