The Stars Above

A Poem

Photo by Adam Eggleston on Unsplash

Endless iterations of this life staring deep into the sky a bed of pine needles sounds of nature a distinct quiet vastness space me

The stars above tell a story of neverending finality a bastion of hope a view of more a reminder of how small we are me

Infinite universal roaming without a long to-do list waiting for you to do everything except open your eyes breathe deep exhale you

The stars above tell a story of both you, and of me star-crossed strangers so serendipitous so far apart so lost found us

The sky holds the answers to all of my questions and holds my hand and my lofty hope in its wide palm clutching me as one of its own
