The Spoils of War

Old men create wars that the young must fight not as a last resort but as their perceived right to rape and pillage what belongs to another to enrich themselves and use war as a cover.
While the young sacrifice their lives and their dreams the proud and the arrogant work on their schemes. From their seats of power safe and secure they grow rich and fat on the spoils of war.
These wars will not cease no they will not stop it until those who create them and those who make profit from the suffering of others are removed and replaced by those who shun war and by peace are embraced.
Hear this cry you who are rising repeat not the evil of those who are fading see not the young as pawns in your game or the treasures of others as yours to attain.
But tell me if you can what generation has learnt the lessons of history and has not got burnt in repeating the cycle of what’s gone before will this next one be different when they take the floor?
Will this next one be different will they do more than repeat the evil of those gone before? If they are not there’s one thing for sure we’ll repeat the evil of those gone before.
Unless we can find leaders who lead for the good of the people and not their own greed our hopes and our dreams can go back on the shelf cause you’ll only get history repeating itself.
Unless we can find leaders who lead for the good of the people and not their own greed you’ll only get history repeating itself you’ll only get history repeating itself.
