The dog sleeps with gay abandon

Dogs sleep so innocently.

Yesterday, I was passing by. I went to the market to pick up my groceries that could not be ordered online.

While walking, I was chatting with someone. Suddenly, I saw people gaping at something among the people going and coming.

I was also curious. I went for a closer look. What did I see?

A white stray dog was sleeping with gay abandon in the middle of the road. He was not bothered by who came and who went from there.

He kept sleeping.

He was sleeping with a smile.

People tried to wake him up, but he did not respond. It was like leave me alone. I am dreaming.

I went closer to him. It was so inspiring to see his pose.

Look at his pose.

The front legs one entangled with the other. He had placed it comfortably and twined it in.

His carelessness or no care for the world put a smile on my face, too.

I also tried to wake him up, but he did not seem to care to look up.

We have three stray dogs inside our gated community. A closer look and I knew he was one of them.

We have a German Doctor living just opposite my house. She feeds them well. She has inoculated them, and she cares for them like her own kids.

She has three of her own dogs too.

The last time one of these was sick, she was up with her all night. She took her to the hospital. She fed her with her hand. She cared for her, and when she breathed her last, she went to cremate her as well.

She named this dog named Jimmy and had a kennel for him outside her house.

I do not know what brought him to the pathway where people pass brusquely and shoo strays away. They throw stones at them too.

Jimmy was oblivious to strangers.

We want a comfortable bed to sleep in!

Strays will sleep anywhere and still be comfortable and smile too.

I collected my smile and moved on.

Others, too passed him, seeing him sleeping in an interesting pose and they just smiled.
