The Sky is on Fire

A photographic documentary of the setting sun

I was lying on the couch working on an article for the World Traveler’s Blog. Being in the writing flow I totally forgot. I forgot I wanted to have a sundowner on the balcony watching the sun disappear in the ocean.

When I looked up from my tablet I saw the colors shining through the window. I jumped up, ran to my room, and grabbed my camera. I had to capture this sunset.

Standing on the balcony I took these photographs within the time span of 15 minutes. No more. And no less than that. The sky was on fire. Within minutes it lit up the entire beach.

Birds were playing in the last rays of sunshine. Catching thermals to rise in the sky.

A thick layer of fog was hovering right on the horizon. Just above the ocean. Therefore I couldn’t see the sun set in the sea. But it was still more than magic. The moment the sky turned into a flaming wall.
