Summary

Michel is participating in a live auction to spend time with women, hoping to find Lara, who he believes is part of the auction.

Abstract

The narrative unfolds in Chapter 35 of "The Silk Trap. A Novel in 43 Chapters," titled "Michel bids to have sex." Michel, curious and suspicious, inquires about an auction to Jan, who explains it involves spending quality time with new women at the company. The auction offers a private three-hour encounter with no rules, and payment is handled online. Michel's interest is piqued, despite his concern about not liking any of the women. Jan assures him he won't pay if he doesn't find a woman to his liking. The auction process is detailed, with clients bidding online and receiving a token number to confirm their win. Michel, eager to find Lara, prepares for the auction, which begins at 1 am. He logs into a website that initially appears to be for Czech timber but quickly transforms into an auction site with a countdown and professional presentation. As the auction commences, Michel is disappointed not to see Lara among the women being auctioned, and he is disturbed by the objectification of the women presented.

Opinions

  • Michel is driven by a desire to find Lara, which overrides his suspicions about the auction's legitimacy and potential risks, such as exposing his financial information to cybercriminals.
  • Jan presents the auction as a sophisticated and exclusive service, emphasizing the quality of the women and the lack of restrictions during the encounter.
  • The author portrays the auction as a well-organized and potentially dangerous operation, with high production values and a seamless online transaction system that could be a front for criminal activities.
  • Michel's emotional state fluctuates between hope and frustration, indicating a deep concern for Lara's well-being and an underlying anxiety about her potential involvement in the auction.
  • The narrative suggests a critical view of the objectification and commodification of women in such auctions, highlighting the stark contrast between the glamorous presentation of the women and the reality of their situation.

“What is the auction for?” Michel asked, looking suspicious and curious.

Jan looked at Michel thoughtfully, choosing his words carefully, “It’s a live auction for spending quality time with some exceptional girls who have just joined our company.” He stopped and looked at Michel to check for interest /reaction. Satisfied with what he saw, he continued, “They have just arrived here, and we always start them off by offering them to our select group of clients to get the first taste of our new stock.”

“And is this different from the company you just offered to me?” Michel asked, leading Jan to explain the difference.

“Yes, of course! Here you get three hours alone with the lady, and we don’t set any rules for how you spend your time together; we ask that you be nice to her and treat her like a lady” Jan smiled and winked as he replied. “She will be escorted to your room by one of our men, who will then wait in the lobby for her when you have both finished.”

“What if I don't like any of the girls?” Michel crossed his arms and frowned slightly as he asked.

“Then you don’t pay and sleep alone.” Jan shrugged and winked.

Michel smiled back but stayed focussed with his questions, “Do I pay when I meet the girl?”

“No.” Answered Jan firmly. “You do not need to pay any money to the girl. We collect the money online via your card if you win the bid. You will receive a token number on your phone via text that you need to show to the man who escorts the lady. Once he confirms the number, the girl will be handed over to you in your room. And this way you can have what you want”. Jan smiled again, this time even letting out a little laugh as if amused at Michel’s carnal desires.

“Ok. I understand. Michel smiled back.”When does this auction start?” Michel was now a little more restless and anxious to see if Lara was one of the girls on the auction list.

Jan looked at his watch... “In 30 minutes. Here are the website address and login and password details. Once you log in, you will see the girls one by one, and they will have some pictures and some videos. Under their name, there will be a price ticker to show the live bid price. You can raise the bid by putting your price next to that price. All clients will have 1 minute to consider raising their bids. If no one raises the price and if you have the highest bid, then the girl is yours!”

Jan looked a little bored, explaining the process to Michel as if he had done this many times before.

Michel looked at his watch. It was just after midnight.

The auction was starting at 1 am. He got up, said goodbye to Jan, and headed back to his room to do this properly and in private. This could be his only way to find Lara.

Back in his room, when Michel logged into the website, it took him to a Czech timber website! It was a Czech auction website for buying and selling timber. Jan had given him a Login number and a login password. But the minute Michel logged in, the site swiped over and into a blue velvet background, and a digital clock was counting down on the screen…22 minutes.

The blue velvet background was like a curtain, animated to move slightly and show some shadows moving behind the curtain. There was lounge music playing while the clock counted down. The whole website looked quite professionally developed. There were clear instructions on how to enter his credit card details. Michel was sweating as he went through with the registration. He knew that he was now entering the viper pit of cybercriminals who would have access to all his bank and address details. But Michel was convinced Lara was somewhere here, and this auction was his best bet to find her.

The clock was now ticking down to 5 minutes. Michel was ready. He pulled out a beer from the fridge as he sat waiting for the auction to start. He wondered how Lara was doing and where she might be…he kept having flashes of her gagged and unconscious wrapped in the tarpaulin with the yellow scarf around her face…His mind was relentlessly torturing him with that image the closer the countdown clock slid towards zero.

After what seemed like an eternity, the countdown clock finally struck zero.

Michel’s sat transfixed, clutching his phone and riveted to every pixel movement on the screen.

Slowly the music on the site became louder, and the blue screen faded away, and on the screen was the image of a young 20 something girl.

It was not Lara! Michel banged his fist on the table in frustration.

The girl’s opening image appeared in a blue silk gown with a tiara on her hair. Her name on the screen was flashed as Anna. The pictures shuffled like a deck of cards showing her in different poses and dresses that showed her voluptuous body in great detail. There were no nude pictures of the girl, but the lighting and the angles in the pictures did enough to inflame the imagination. The bidding price began at 300 euros. After a few seconds, Michel saw that someone had bid 320 euros. The ticker started to pulse to show that the price had changed… Another bidder had upped the price to 350 euros... Michel could see that there were 24 bidders were online at that moment. The 350 euro price flashed for a few seconds and then froze. Animated Confetti covered the screen, and the 350 euros price was stamped on the image.

Then a new girl appeared on the screen. She looked younger. Maybe in her teens. She looked innocent and petite. Her name was Caroline. She had silky blonde hair and blue eyes, and she wore long silver earrings, a white silk dress, and high heels. Her starting bid also began at 300 euros. Her photographs were more revealing and showed her semi-naked and posing with sex toys around her in the bed. The bidding for her was a lot more frenetic. Quickly her price rose to 400 euros and then moved again until it reached 450 euros …where it ended. The Confetti animation reappeared, and Caroline had been auctioned for 450 euros.

Michel’s felt sick in his stomach, looking at how the girls had been prepared for these auctions. This was a professional job, and someone had taken a lot of effort to design the whole portfolio of the girl. He dreaded to think what they had done to Lara for her to be featured in this sex parade. If she was here…
