the “shoulds”
a poem

In these moments the guilt is overwhelming, an emotion that says
you should have done better you should have been better you should have known better
a martyr emotion that tells me the only expectation of me is to expect my sacrifice against others’ needs.
it’s overwhelming how strongly guilt can be planted like a seed, growing unruly like a weed, unwanted, painfully overgrown, suffocating all else.
