I wrote this song in 2017 and recently played it at an open mic contest in Atlanta…and won🙂

Verse 1:

I’ve got faces a many which one would you like me to wear

And I’ve got stories a plenty which lie would you like me to share

Oh yes sir I can do it, see I got my papers hanging on the wall

And I never sell myself short I only sold myself out, but that’s all, while hoping

I tell myself do what you got to not what you want to and it’ll somehow be fine

But I feel more and more empty with every deal with every signed dotted line

While somewhere else someone else reaps all the benefits of me

I ask myself how can this be and should it be and will it be and what about me, but maybe

Cause see I’ve got this love deep down inside me that wants to burst out and tear down these walls

Where everyone around around me will say ‘damn that don’t even look like him at all’
