Where Success Is Guaranteed

“Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better” — Jim Rohn

We all want life to be easier. That’s only natural.

Even Jim Rohn himself who said this in one of his many great speeches wanted an easier life. He made this statement from the benefit of his experience. Motivational mogul Tony Robbins calls Jim Rohn one of his favorite mentors.

Whatever challenge you face right now, it is only human to feel less agony whenever that challenge is reduced to a more manageable proportion.

The big idea here is: in order to accomplish whatever we need to be successful in any venture, our comfort level and the extent of our abilities as we perceive them, will always be challenged.

But we also know, at least intellectually, that it’s through the challenges and obstacles we overcome that we grow. And deep down, growth is the success we ultimately desire.

Let’s Put This Into Action

  • Make a commitment to yourself that you are going to learn and grow from the experience you are facing right now. We are not taking on all of life’s problems today, just this situation. Not a hypothetical situation. The one in your mind right now: that was a concern for you as you lay in bed last night, and was in your mind when you woke up this morning.

It may be a big crisis or something that has become so routine, you almost accept it as a given in your life. Still, it causes you some concern. Well, It will not be a problem for you after today. You have committed to handling it.

  • Find out what knowledge and skills you need. What do you need to know, and what do you need to be able to do efficiently that will cause this to be not a challenge for you anymore? Write it down.
  • Who can you call? (Mentor. Expert.) Who can help you with this project? Write down their names and contact them immediately. Getting the right help is a move of strength.
  • Set your deadline for when you will complete this project. Don’t be afraid of a deadline (that’s the old You). If by chance you do not reach your goal, simply reassess how much you have grown, and set a new (shorter) deadline. You are much farther along now and much better equipped.

With new skills, more knowledge, and increased wisdom you can approach life with more confidence. The volume of things out of your control decreases dramatically.

This makes it easier for you to have the freedom to work how, when, and where you want to, and be a positive influence in the lives of others: without struggling, worrying, or doubting that it’s going to happen.

According to John Maxwell, whereas a regular person goes through a crisis, the person who intentionally leads his or her life grows through a crisis.

The people who know this secret live in the land of continuous success.
