The SECOND Weekly MuddyUm Writer’s Prompt
Because We’re Keeping Track

Alas, the poets mourn From MuddyUm, they’ve been scorned.
And now, we thoughtfully reflect Just how may we deflect
Attention from the rest Of those that just digest
Listicles about testicles And how to avoid spectacles
So to the poets, we befriend And this new prompt, we recommend.
This week’s challenge, and mission, should you choose to accept it*, is to write a comedic, satirical, or punny short story, into which you thoughtfully embed a poem.
Use at least these 3 tags — Poetry, Short Story, Humor and/or Satire, as appropriate! Writer’s choice on the other 2.
Embed this prompt into the bottom of the post so people might start thinking we’re a semi-serious publication. Okay, you’re right. We don’t want them thinking we’re serious at all.
And tag a fellow poet who needs a challenge. And a laugh. And a boost in read time!
- As always, should you or any of your MuddyUm Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. *

Thanks to Helen Cassidy Page for the inspiration on this prompt. She’s out on the front lines rallying the troops and asking everyone to step up their game and read more poetry. I agree.
