I arrived in the morning, on an old street lined with oaks, and the sky was a hymn. It seemed so much more than I deserved. The first poetry newsletter was a light in the dark. It was my inheritance, and I knew I had to hold on to it. I would return it with interest. The first poetry newsletter was a poem of tears. It was a whisper of the soul, stilled by silence. It touched me because it was real, not because it was something that could be recorded for posterity.

The second poetry newsletter rattled into view like a pigeon in the dark. It wasn’t what I had expected. Instead of the ghost of a poem, it was solid and alive. It was hot, like a new fresh thing that had just been born into the world, announcing its own arrival with everything it had.

It was overwhelming but brief, and then it faded back into the mists of time.
