ILLUMINATION Strategy
The Second Milestone Achieved
Commencing next milestone based on reader feedback

Our first milestone was to create our baseline and reach to 1000 readers. We achieved this a week ago. Today, we achieved our second milestone. We have now over 2000 readers following our publication. Congratulations to our writers for our community success achieved in such a short time.
How can we sustain our success and what do we need in the next milestone?
We need to make additional adjustments to address the growing demands. Number of our readers are rapidly growing. New readers expect new topics and new insights. We need more variety and diversity with excellence.
I am pleased that several readers approached us, providing feedback in various means. This feedback is useful for our plans. Based on the feedback obtained from our readers, I want to introduce a few ideas and recommend some actions for our writers.
The primary reason we had so many readers in such a short time-frame was the value we added to our readers.
What kind of values did we give to our readers so far?
There are five key points highlighted in the feedback.
The summary of the feedback:
1. Variety of topics by an increasing number of writers from a wide range of expertise areas
2. The growing number of articles each day in eclectic topics
3. Improved quality in content using different writing styles
4. Easy access to content with curated lists and featured content by other writers
5. Strong engagement in community expanding the ideas with different perspectives
These five points are our key strengths so far.
Therefore, we need to build our success on these capabilities.
In our next milestone, we will further increase our variety with the addition of new writers. We need a collective and concerted effort to grow our community. Each of us needs to take personal responsibility for our success. This is the secret to the community growth and success.
What can we do practically?
All of us need to reach out at least one new writer from our followers and invite them to our community. We need to keep promoting our value. Medium is so big and so complex that unless we promote proactively, members can hardly find us. We don’t leave our success to chance. We create opportunities with a proactive approach.
Currently, we have around 230 writers. If each writer brings a new writer each day, we can multiply number of our writers resulting in more variety and diversity in our community. Increased number of writers also means an increased number of readers.
Here are a few tips to re-iterate:
Informing writers who follow us in a relevant and meaningful way is an excellent approach to growth.
Adding our publication in our signature with a hyperlink can help other writers to discover us.
Sharing our progress regularly in an article with facts can be credible and compelling.
We continue sharing our own articles and articles of other writers in social media frequently.
One key fact is that our readers enjoy the variety of the topics we cover and they expect more. When I asked some readers for their interest areas, they provided me useful points.
The following are the points that you can consider in your writing plan. You can customize these points based on your writing strategy, goals, and objectives. These are general ideas for your consideration. Some of them may not apply to some of us. My aim is to give you options to consider so that you can tailor them to your needs.
