The Search for Shelter

Oh and the sweet taste of whiskey.

I watched the clouds dance slowly

past the moon and meet on the other

side of the night sky as I poured whiskey

into my already half full cup.

Or was it half empty like the sky

as the clouds engaged in conversation

about tomorrow’s storm

while the moon watched and listened

to my slurred words on how to

speak to the stars about helping me

find shelter…
