Amazing authors and their pets that rule the home.

Kathy K shares:

Jan 9 2022 was the start of something so horrible and unimaginable, and yet so sweet. The Year of the Dogs!

Lucky was three months old and we weren’t ready for his style of mischievous deeds.

I was gone one day and missed the unrolling of the toilet paper roll, all the way down the hall and around the couch until he could go no further! The terrible twos were upon us.

When Lucky was six months old, we picked up Nova from a breeder. First thing she said was, “Nova puked in the car.”

We loved her from the start but she’s highly anxious and hasn’t stopped being car sick. Ugh.

She’s almost nine months old now and growing up nicely. She’s unsure of anything new, people included, and reacts with aggression. I’m trying hard to socialize her by taking her to dog parks and for walks around my beautiful neighborhood.

She’ll get there with some love and tender care.

P.S. I have way too many pictures to choose from! Way too many stories to tell about 2022 and how these two changed my lifestyle for good.

Sweet Chaos shares:

Jellybean 2.0 (the Yellow-bellied aquatic turtle) makes friends with the feeder fish (her pets.)

She shredded and uprooted her plants, nibbled on them, then swam throughout the tank like a cat high on catnip!

Immediately after this fiasco, she turned around and devoured 5 fish in a feeding frenzy — in 24 hours.

She’s very active, calls to an invisible friend/mate, and sneezes VERY loudly — causing her head to forcefully retract into her shell. Lol

Then there is sweet Mercy. She is a very good watchdog who is allergic to the world (almost), and is my Rottie mix rescue.

From the moment I met her at the shelter, she will fall at my feet for a belly rub (and i fell in love with her.) My daughter nicknamed her putty puppy.

She will lay on my husband’s shoes but has never destroyed anything.

There has been an occasion or so where she was found lounging on the kid’s bed — she’s not been permitted on furniture for a few years but rewards herself!

Her previous sister was “El Perro Diablo!” A beautiful rescue dog, had sharing issues, horrible anxiety, destroyed pillows, Wii controllers, the base of a steel kennel, etc.

She was quickly named “No, no beast”. Yes — I had it printed on her collar, below her name! Lol

Their personalities were like Jekyll and Hyde, good angel — bad angel. There’s much less stress with a jellybean turtle and a putty puppy.

Jacinta Palmer shares:

My fur babies are a big part of my life, but one of them is causing me lots of worry at the moment. I will share some pics of them though. The Daxi is Oscar, as you can see it is hard to get outerwear to fit him, although he has a cozy Equafleece now. This is an old pic, he is a lot more white in the face and on his front paws now. Poor fella has had back trouble as this breed often does and has had 2 spinal ops — but he enjoys a nice gentle walk sniffing everything. Does not enjoy meeting ANY dogs! The Weim is Diesel, who we rescued when he was 3. He is very clumsy and a bit of a velcro fella. Not good with other dogs either but loves people (knows all the delivery guys because he MUST answer the door with us!) Currently cannot be left unsupervised in case he has a fit … we are keeping him happy and comfortable for his last ‘lap’ of the circuit.

These are only a few of the author’s beloved pets as life gets busy and time to write and share gets limited. 💙
