A Night Out in April

Regular rain drove her to the place To meet the men from her past life They met in the bar, drinking, toasting, laughing
During delicious dinner flashes of lightning lit up the lead framed windows Framed by warm, antique bricks And the past crept further away
New men carried umbrellas over her stark silver curls As she walked into the torrential downpour under thunderous lit up skies For a treacherous drive down from the mountain Into the horse valley below
Ending with being warm and safe at home
